About Whither

Whither is an archaic English word, from Old English hwider, meaning “to what place.” Every day the board asks the same question: which way down?

The idea comes from the lettered-hex quiz boards of classic British TV, rebuilt as a daily puzzle you play alone in a few minutes. The twist is the route: every answer starts with its hex’s letter, rows get harder as you go down, and the score rewards the shortest, cleanest path.

Whither is made by the team behind Seldom, the daily game where the most obscure right answer wins.

Whither launched on October 18, 2026, with a new board every day since. Read more about the word.
